Batman Comic Book #181 Complete. The interior pages for the most part, are in good condition, especially the poster! Poster Condition Right Edge of Page - no tears. Left Edge of Page - 3/8" tear at the fold. Four 1/8" tears. 3 chips: 2 chips are 1/16" x 1/8" and one chip is 1/16" x 1/16". Bottom Edge of Page - 2 tears of 3/8" each. Top Edge of Page - A small hole of 1/16" x 1/16". There is 1/4" tear at both staples. Paper is supple and a light tan on the edge. Interior Pages Book is complete, including poster or pin-up. 36 interior pages. I am counting each side of one piece of paper. So, one piece of paper is 2 pages or pages 1 & 2. No writing on the pages. Pages are supple. It does not seem like the pages are going to crack or chip when I turn them. Pages are flat and not crumpled. The pages are off-white to creamy or slightly tan. Some light smudging on a few of the pages. Corners are both rounded and square. 1 dogear corner at the top of pages 9 & 10, and 3 dogear corners at the bottom of pages 29 & 30, 33 - 36. Right & Left Edges of Pages - No tears. Top Edge of Pages - 1/4" tear on pages 35 - 36. At the spine a 1/8" tear on pages 1 - 4. Bottom Edge of Pages - 2 chips on pages 13 - 14 about 1/16" x 1/16" each. 1 chip on pages 19 - 20 about 1/16" x 1/16". 1/4" tear on pages 1 - 2, 7 - 8, 31 - 32. 3/8" tear on pages 35 - 36. A t the spine : 1/4" tear on pages 1 - 8, 1/2" tear on pages 9 -10, 1/4" tear on pages 11-12, 3/4" tear on pages 23 - 24, and 1/8" tear on pages 35 - 36. Pages 29 - 32 have separated from the book. Pages 29 - 34 have old tape residue. It looks like 4 pieces of clear tape (about 2" long) were attached at one time, at the spine area. The paper has a small light gray area close to the staples, throughout the book, with the exception of pages 29 - 32. For example, photo 10. Stress tears on spine, near the staples, of 1/8" to 1/4" on pages 1 - 6, 19 - 24 and 33 - 36. Stress tear of 1/4" on the spine about 1" above the bottom staple, on pages 1 - 6. Cover Condition Inside back cover, photo 11. Inside front cover, photo 12. Cover and spine has wear, creases, soiling, scuffs, color fading lower left corner on front, chips & tears on the edges. The largest of the chips & tears are listed below. Front Cover, Top Edge - No tears. Front Cover, Bottom Edge, tears - 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/8", 1/8" & 3/8". Front Cover, Side Edge, tears - 1/4", 3/8", 1/8" & 1/8". Back Cover, Top Edge - No tears. Back cover, Bottom Edge, tears - 1/4", 1/8", 1/8" & 1/8" Back cover, Side Edge, chip - 1/8" x 1/8". Cover is attached to the spine, with the exception of separation: about 4" of length above the bottom staple, at the top edge about 1/4" in length, at the bottom edge about 3/4" in length. Light pink stains and spots on bottom of cover interior & opposite page. Photo 12. Some light pink at bottom of page 3. Front cover: bottom left corner is missing, about 1/4" x 1/4". Top left corner is missing about 1/8" x 1/8". Corners of cover are rounded. Staples have rust. Paper is supple. Inks are bright.
