Description

Rocket's Blast Comicollector (RBCC) #152 fanzine published 1982. X-Men The Mutant Handbook by Kurt Busiek & Scott McCloud (credited as McLeod) is the cover feature. Cartoonist Kayfabe recently made a video about this piece as it appeared in a zine called "X-Men Synopsis by Kurt Busiek & Scott McLeod 1979" dubbing it the original X-Men Grand Design based on a call-out of Ed Piskor by Busiek on twitter. HOWEVER, the newer zine left out a couple of pages from the original feature (watch the video and see the page numbers skip from 9 to 12 as they flip through), as well as omitting a couple of cool Cyclops drawings by McCloud using pointillist techniques. RBCC #152 is the ONLY WAY TO GET THE FULL "MUTANT HANDBOOK" AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY PRINTED as far as I know. Condition appears to be in the Very Good (VG) range by comic book grading standards. Cover shows some wear and color rubbed off, but the fanzine is totally intact and fully attached. Cool X-Men front cover. Cool Flash Gordon back cover. Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back parody comics. Review of Will Eisner's Life on Another Planet which includes discussion of The Spirit in Outer Space with Wally Wood, plus other reviews. Cool drawings of Batman, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Black Panther, and others. Review of the 1981 Lone Ranger movie. Review of Invasion of the Body Snatchers in its different forms. Weird Tales, etc. Fanzine comes bagged & boarded. I take pride in my packing and all shipments are securely protected. Free shipping in the US via USPS Parcel Select Ground.
